DESCRIPTION:Room: G009\nTrack: Geopolitics\nSession Description\nOER Policy Making can be considered to be one of the most powerful leverages to support the mainstreaming of Open Education since it defines the framing conditions for the implementation of OER and is often connected to the provision of funding opportunities. In order to support the mainstreaming of OER\, Creative Commons in the past provided the OER Policy Registry\, which included a comprehensive collection of current governmental and institutional policies related to OER and Open Education.\n\nIn spring 2018 Creative Commons and the OER World Map agreed to migrate the OER Policy Registry to the OER World Map. One of the big advantages related to this step is that the new platform will allow to link policies to related activities like governmental or institutional programs and projects. By providing contextual information for each policy\, better evaluation of its impact will be enabled.\nThe relaunch of the OER Policy Registry also includes the opportunity to refine the technical platform as well as its associated operating model. During the third OE Policy Forum\, which was held in October 2018 in Warsaw a group of dedicated OER policy experts met to discuss the specification of the relaunched registry. The agreed redesign includes\, amongst others\, the refinement of the available metadata fields as well as the inclusion of a powerful statistics engine\, which allows to aggregate and visualized the available information easily.\n\nAn initial version of the new Policy registry has already been implemented on OER World Map (https://oerworldmap.org/oerpolicies). The most important features of the new site are planned to be delivered till spring 2019. Also a policy lab\, which will aim at collecting the most important (European) OER policies as well as at quality checking new platform functionality\, will be offered as a satellite event to OER19 (https://oerworldmap.wordpress.com/2019/01/22/save-the-date-oer-policy-lab-oer19/).\n\nThe talk will present the achievements of the project so far and give an outlook to planned new features.
